HTC U latest rumours - release date specifications

HTC U latest rumours - release date specifications The successor to the HTC 10 has been the subject of much discussion on the web: firstly, because it wasn't announced at MWC 2017, and we still have no official word on when it will appear; second, because the company is tipped to be turning its back on physical buttons completely for the handset; and third, because it's probably not going to be called the HTC 11. As to what it will be called, well, for now your guess is as good as ours. We'd put our money on there being a 'U' involved, following the HTC U family unveiled on 12 January.
The already unveiled HTC U Ultra is the company's 2017 flagship phablet, and had the codename HTC Ocean Note. The upcoming 2017 flagship smartphone has the codename HTC Ocean. Coincidence?

President of smartphone and connected devices business, Chialin Chang, has confirmed to Engadget that the HTC 11 will be announced but that it will go under a new name.

When is the HTC U release date?

Everyone is predicting a 12-month cycle for HTC’s new phones, which puts the HTC U launch date in April 2017. Traditionally it has launched in March: only the HTC 10 has launched later in the year.
It's late to the party, though, with Huawei, LG, Samsung and Sony all having already unveiled their flagship phones for 2017.
@evleaks claims the so-called 'HTC Ocean' has not been forgotten in light of the 12 January HTC Ocean Note launch, posting a video of a young couple purportedly using it.

What are the rumoured specifications?

HTC will more than likely use Qualcomm’s best available mobile chip for its next flagship, the 10nm Snapdragon 835 with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0. It will most likely be paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, though we have heard the HTC U could get 256GB of storage.
For the camera, rumours are suggesting HTC will stick with a 12Mp main camera at the back, and put an 8Mp selfie camera at the front (up from 5Mp).
One of the main issues with the HTC 10’s camera was its lack of consistency. Some photos were great, some weren’t.
